hey guys im new to the site and having abit of trouble with my 1.6 ts 147, so am hoping that someone with alot more knowledge than me can help before i take it too a garage. iv not long had it and its a lovely car, Y reg with 60k on it if the mileage makes a difference but the clutch has been feeling very weird the last few days. there is alot of travel in the clutch while pushing it down before it hits the spot where u feel the clutch engage...as if a little floppy(sorry about the word floppy :P) and if getting increasingly hard to put into gear as if the clutch is not fully engaged sometimes to the point where i have to stop and force it in. also when in gear with the clutch fully down the car will move off as if at the biting point. it gets worse in stop start or slow traffic when usuing it alot but on more of a run the clutch sometimes goes back to how it felt when i first had the car, and then switches bk and forth between these two. sorry about the essay im just alittle baffled that its come on all of a sudden. would it be a new clutch? or clutch needing bleeding? any info would be great as iv not had the car long and everything on it is brilliant accept for the annoyance of the clutch! cheers for any help guys

60,000 miles sounds low for the clutch wearing, but your master cylinder might have a problem. Unless you are a confident DIYer my advice would be to check you have plenty of fluid in it and then get it to a garage while you can still find a gear.
