For those of you who drove a 500 in the snow earlier this year how did you find it?

My GF has a fairly tricky drive to work and as she is 'on call' needs to be able to get in reliably.

Worth shelling out for a set of winter tyres? Or is it no better or worse than any other FWD hatch?

A relatively light FWD hatch. Fairs better than most in snow as long as tyres not too warn. I had no issues with mine in the snow.

My wife has a 1.2 lounge and myself an Abarth 500.

She is a student paramedic and usually if they phone in due to snow the supervisor usually comes and collects them in one of the 4x4's. We live out in the stix and never had to be collected, always got in due to being a light fwd hatch

The abarth never really had an issues either, just tried to keep off boost!

Should do fine. But choose a standard/thinner wheel/tyre combination and nothing too wide and sporty. My Panda 100HP does OK even with wide Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres (V grooves pointless in snow), however it tends to scoot across the surface using its low weight and not grip.
