Hi,

anyone got any experience of these cars. Seems to be a hell of a bargain, a V6 sports saloon for £500 for a high miler!

Can this be true! After alll they aren't that old. Why are they so cheap?

Because the cam variators go, making them sound like a diesel, making people think the engine is totally wadgered.

I had one for six years and I loved it, I only sold it cos I needed more space for Children. It is the best car I have ever had and I still miss it 3 years later. It was fast, reliable, comfortable, handled superbly, did 25 mpg, did not rust (galvanised body), sounded superb and always wanted to charge to the red line in every gear. It is cheap because people don't know how good it is. Oh and it does not have a variator, they are on the far less reliable 4 cyl engines. Idealy they should be serviced by a good independant specialist and run on synthetic oil changed every 6k miles. If you do fancy going for one, get a later "wide-body" one, they are much better than the previous cars. All the comments above relate to a 96 N wide-body car.

I have serviced quite a few 155 v6 cars.
no variator fitted.
when going well its great but cam belt expensive to change..
front lower arms and rear shocks always need replacement.
if you dont mind rattles/and lots of small faults
good luck
