Heya, looking for a little steer/guidance if possible

Change of job and my partner now having a big car means I'm looking at downsizing and ordering a new Abarth 595 for my new 5-mile country lane hack to the station every day. Going from big miles in a boring A4 Avant to fewer miles and a bit of fun.

Having spent ages dicking about on the Abarth configurator, I'm still not sure what the fundamental differences, other than price, there are between Pista, Tourismo, Esseesse etc.

Any particular recommendations in terms of where the sweet spot sits in the range? Pros and cons of the models?

Any help gratefully received.

Just bought one myself.
They are various special editions which change interior, wheels etc but essentially 3 models
The base with 140 bhp which usually has 16" wheels and cloth interior
The 160 bhp model, usually a turismo but there are various specials. These have bigger turbo, koni suspension, bigger wheels, drilled discs and full leather
The 180 bhp model, usually a competitione this has a bigger turbo, special seats and bremo brakes

I went for the turismo model having owned a base (custom) model before. You really can feel the performance difference.

I went to turismo as it feels more special than the base and I couldn't justify the costs to completione.

Look at the used section on stoneacre, still some pre reg 69 plates with great deals on

Considering only the new models, there are essentially 3 ‘standard’ options:
- 595 = 145ps with smaller IHI turbo, base cloth seats, base suspension, basic AC, 16” alloys, chrome trim pieces, black bumper inserts... Entry model, fine for a runaround especially.
- 595 Turismo = 165ps with larger Garrett turbo, Drilled brakes, Koni FSD rear suspension, Leather interior, Climate control, tints and on the newest models (18on) auto lights/wipers, 17” alloys, brushed alloy trim pieces, colour coded bumper inserts... middle range with more power/driveability and nice creature comforts, rear suspension upgrade makes for better comfort too.
- 595 Competizione = 180ps with Garrett turbo, Brembo brakes, Koni FSD suspension all round, Monza exhaust (quad pipe, valved, louder), Sabelt bucket seats, climate, tints, 17” alloys, satin grey/black trim pieces and bumper inserts.... the ‘racey’ one with firmer ride, great response and stopping, noise etc, more of an occasion.

Considering the current specials (595 not 695):
- 595 Pista = essentially a 165ps Turismo underneath, but I believe cloth seats and the Monza loud exhaust, has 17” Formula wheels. The 7” screen has some racetrack telematic stuff too pre-loaded I understand.
- 595 EsseEsse (SS) = essentially a 180ps Competizione underneath, but has Supersport (SS) 17” wheels and an expensive factory fit Akrapovic exhaust system. Not 100% sure on interior spec, think it gets the Sabelts?

You may see 12-18m old ‘Trofeo’ models which were the previous Pista - these were the base models with small turbo factory remapped to 160ps with Koni rear suspension, drilled brakes, the Monza exhaust and 17” wheels - base interior but with the 7” screen and track data loaded as mentioned above.

I think all newest models except the base 595 also now come with the 7” Screen and Carplay/Android connectivity.

We’ve owned 4x 595s now covering all 3 of the ‘Standard’ range working from Base to Comp in the correct order - IMO the Turismo was the best all rounder of ours for daily use and fun thrown in, though I do love our current Comp too... sometimes that little bit of restraint/comfort of the Turismo is missed

Comp & Turismo share same engine hardware and both go really well, the bigger turbo fitted over the base model makes them pretty punchy and easy to drive.
