Well, almost first Alfa. I bought a 159 2.0 JTDM Ti Sportwagon in early September, which I ran for a week before rejecting it due to the intermittent random warning lights and beeps. A shame, as I reckon it’s the best looking estate car ever made.

Decided to look for something newer instead, so I started looking at Giuliettas. Although a QV would be good, it’s supposed to be a sensible daily car, so I was looking at QV Line, Speciale and Sprint Speciale. Thought it would have to be a 170 hp (because it’s more than 150), although reviews suggested there wasn’t much between the two, and TCT due to the lack of space for your left foot in the manual.

So after a few test drives, yes, that’s right, I bought a 150 hp with manual transmission.

No, it’s not the fastest thing in the world but it looks good and puts a smile on my face like nothing since the Puma. It’s more fun than my Cayman too.

Nice. I too have been looking at these since test driving a Guilia Veloce a month or so ago.

I found the super light steering and the ease thus feeling remoteness of the 8 sp auto, offputting.

Shame they don't come in manual, that and even a 3 year old car was just too much for my budget.

Saw a QV Guilietta in the car park the other day and really liked it. Manual and quick, although it was 10 years old.

Have looked at newer ones but they all seem to be auto.
