Alfa 156 clunk from steering only when cold

and not driven for a while.
Either hard lock left or right to get it out of a tight parking space.
Gone within a minute.
Happened the other day when I hadn't driven it since Christmas day. Thought that's odd.
Half hour later and in the works carpark I tried fast and slow hard lock turns and couldn't replicate it. Also didn't happen when I finished work 8 hours later.
Seems to be only when sat for a few days or more.
Any ideas, cheers.

Ah, D'oh! Didn't even think of that.
I bought the car off an old gent who had barely done 500 miles a year over the past 10 years.
Car looks like and goes like new apart from where he has scratched the driver side front and rear bumpers getting it into his garage.
I'll have a look later. Cheers.
