Hi, I am think about buying a Giulia Veloce but I am a bit confused about what is available in the UK. I have seen photos of other members cars in other threads on here and they don't look like any Veloce's I have seen for sale. Are there different levels within the Veloce? It seems difficult to find any information online, and some of it is misleading as a lot of the options aren't available in the UK.

Thanks!

Luke.

Odd first post. Look on Autotrader and see what's on there. That'll give you a good idea of the different spec.

I've also been looking at Guilias recently, with some consideration in my shortlist of either a new/near-new Veloce or an older QV.

Not sure about the full breakdown of options of a Veloce, but at the most basic level there is both a standard Veloce and Veloce Ti. Same engine/power, but the To version is higher trim, looking closer to a QV version. Hefty price premium though.

The main variation I see from one Veloce to the next is the wheels. Really not a fan of the most basic ones, but the diamond cut ones look decent. Love the QV wheels though, if you find one with that upgrade.

To my knowledge, interior kit is much the same from one to another, excluding the usual suspects (e.g. optional audio upgrades etc).

Helpful non-posts to start with, Pierre much better!

Really, try the configurator first if you're after a new one:

https://www.alfaromeo.co.uk/configurator/

Spec's will have evolved since launch but will be basically the same.
Go for it, they're lovely.

Top lurking too...

Sorry I am not sure what you mean by lurking, I read the rules but sorry if I have done something wrong.

Unfortunately I can't afford a new one so I am looking for one that is a couple of years old. I wanted an AWD model but I haven't seen any; was this an expensive option or is it only available on the Quadrifoglio?

Thanks!

4WD not available on the Quad - that's a RWD scary monster only!

No AWD in the UK at all - steering wheel on the wrong side. Must be more room on the Stelvio as that has it.

Oh ok that's weird, I wonder why they didn't factor that in during the design?

I have seen some cars claim to have a "performance pack", was this an option from Alfa Romeo or is this an aftermarket modification?

Thanks!

I have a vague memory of playing with the alfa configurator on these when new and I recall the performance pack may have been a LSD and more sporty suspension . It may still be there as an option to check.

Funnily enough I was in a dealer today looking at them. They have a Ti there as a test drive car which will be available to buy from March. Its very tasty.

They also said they are built to order, with about a 12 week lead time. But there is stock in the UK- unreg and nearly new. The website does have a configurator too..

The LSD seems pointless on the Veloce as you can't turn the control systems off fully like you can in the QF. I thought about that when I was looking for my Veloce and I've also seen it mentioned by others as a bit of a waste of money.

FWIW I bought mine new last year from a dealer that sells a lot of these. Their business model seems to be order the cars on spec and find buyers between the order date and delivery to them.

My car, a Veloce (and a lot of others they sold at about that time) was specced to come in just on the £40k VED limit, so it basically doesn't have any options at all, apart from paint.

That said, it's well specced as standard (there isn't anything else I'd have added). However, due to price rises since I bought mine, you won't be coming in under £40k list now, so I guess it's tick anything you like on the options list.

I went to look at a few yesterday, but it was a bit disappointing. The wheels that were standard look awful and cheap. Not much choice in colours either, the Misano Blue is nice but the other colours you could have on the Quadrifoglio weren't available in the Veloce, so you are mostly stuck with flat uninspiring sliver/black/red etc.

The Veloce Ti is what I am looking for, but it is significantly more expensive than the standard Veloce and is approaching Quadrifoglio prices, no not sure what the point of the Ti is. From what the dealership said the benefits of the Ti are the Quadrifoglio wheels and a few carbon bits, this does not justify the huge price hike in my opinion.

Furthermore, brand new Veloce's can be had for £35,000, yet 3 year old cars are still up for sale for nearly £30,000 so not sure why you would bother with a second hand one when you can something brand new for only £5,000 more.

Supply and demand, especially with long wait times at the moment.

If you're looking at new, have a word with Stuart at Beechdale Derby and find a way of getting onto the affinity scheme.

This doesn't help you so much if buying used but...

Veloce Ti is now gone from the configurator, and the options have become very constrained.

The Performance Pack was LSD ('Q2') and adaptive suspension. This is now standard on the Veloce.

What demand? Apparently the Giulia sold terribly, way below what was expected.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is an affinity scheme?

Supply across all cars is severely restricted at the moment.

Affinity is a discount scheme that FCA offered, continued by Stellantis. Its applicability is quite wide.

Beechdale have a page on it but it should be available from any dealer: https://www.beechdale.co.uk/pages/affinity/alfa-ro...

Just had a look at that page, and I would say that applicability is slightly more than "quite wide".

The last category in the list is "Alfa Romeo Owners Club Members" - which anyone can join.
