TwinAir chain replacement?
Discussion
Hi all... recently picked up a Fiat 500L (0.9ltr turbo) and have chucked it straight in for a fresh service. Looking at the schedule, it was unfortunately time for the 'big' one, i.e. belt changes etc.
At least, that's what the manual said. Mechanic tells me it's actually a chain. I've had cars with chains before and as far as I know, they're usually meant to be okay for the lifetime of the car? He says it's rattling slightly on start up, and probably needs replacing. He's not one to do us over, as he's my wife's best-friend's husband. He says it's a 'major, major' job
The car is on 68k miles, and has a full service history (in fact one more than it should have had)
Shall I go ahead with replacement? If so, any ideas on pricing?
