Hello,
Appreciate any suggestions on this problem.
My Abarth 595 boot latch won’t engage meaning the boot won’t shut.

When I press the boot handle I can hear the solenoid click, so thinking maybe the boot latch actuator is broke. I removed the fuse for the central locking and put it back in (this removal and replace procedure cured my roof not closing so thought maybe it could help this problem - it didn’t!).
The latch seems to be in the correct position, ie you can push it round with a screwdriver to reveal the hook part of the latch - wondering if it’s somehow got out of sync.

Activating the central locking doesn’t help.

Cheers
Martin.

Most likely it’s the boot wiring loom. Open the boot and check the wires they’re prone to wear.

Ok, thanks for the suggestion I’ll check it out although the car is not yet 3 years old so didn’t think the wiring would be the problem.
Cheers
Martin.

It rubs as you open and close the boot so is common despite the age.

If it is this and you find they’re not repairable you can get a repair set

Hi,
Just back in from removing the insulation tape but all wires look good.
Thanks for the tip on a replacement.
I'm going to have to find someone who can check the electrics out better than me.
Cheers
Martin.

Is it still under warranty?

5 months out of warranty, already spoke to the garage who sold it to us new about another problem and they weren't interested. Fiat also said tough!
Cheers
Martin.
