Hi all.

After selling the 159, I've been looking at buying a Spider for a weekend car. Either this shape, or a 916. Whilst on Ebay, I found this one-

Could the roof and up costing alot to fix?
Also, is this price high for the milage, the description seems honest, and timing chains have been done.

Hmm, after researching further, I may give it a miss!

You're definitely better off in a 916 Spider than one of these. The roof control ECU for the 939 (which is undoubtedly the problem with this car) is another one of those Alfa unobtanium ECU's that also can't be fixed, think it's located in a daft place that gets wet too.

I never gelled with my 159 1750 TBi I had so know one of these wouldn't be for me probably for the same reasons.

Very true that, but odd that they've had it since 2021, and not been able to do the roof, I may well end UK with a convertible that cant convert!

I will continue my search for the 916 I think, that's where I started, and ended up finding that.

I never got on with my 159 either really, quite a heavy thing, so never really handled as well as I thought it would (also I didn't like the 2.0D)

I'll be going for a 2.0 Twin spark spider I think.
