Giulia jolting whilst driving

Evening all.

I was commuting home earlier, cruising around 45mph, when my Giulia (2017, 2.2L Diesel) appeared to jolt, almost like a stall would, and presented the check engine light, as well as saying the Stop/Start function was disabled.

I then arrived at home and as I was pulling into my drive, around 5mph, it did it again but this time the engine actually shut off. I turned back on to finish parking and it started straight away but the warning lights were still present.

Shoved my OBD scanner in and nothing showing up. Google'd the issue to see a few similar posts on other forums with suggestions varying from battery on its way out, to MAP sensor issue, to software needed an update.

Any insight would be appreciated before I contact a garage. Cheers in advance.

They are very sensitive when the battery is getting old. If you are still on the factory battery, probably need a new one.

GSF are doing the oem spec stop start for 140 quid at the moment.

It is indeed the factory fitted battery, 6 years old. New one ordered and hopefully solves the issues.
