Use a V6 to tow a Sprint Shuttle with FF2000 in and it's ok, plenty of power, but if there are passengers in the Alfa as well it sits quite low at the back and then its right on the towing limit for the Alfa (1400 kgs?), so sometimes the rear wheels touch the rear wheel arches over bumps!! Also the towbar is quite low, generally the heavier the tow car the more stable it is, range rovers as best as they are very big and heavy, but the're so big you might as well get a truck!!!
Come on then Wombat ..... share them!!
I really want to change the Volvo (also incidentally a really low tow bar mount) for a 156 sportwagon but I need to hear some good stories rather than the unremitting tales of woe we get on here.
To the point about the rear suspension compressing...do any of them have self levelling?

2.4 jtd - feels reasonably light and sporty for a saloon, very responsive seering, 40mpg plus easy, very very gutsy, does not sound like a normal diesel, looks like no other saloon inside and out - still catch myself looking back at it in the car park after 12 months.
Negatives - brakes are very average (compared to a 147), hard ride in veloce spec, poor storage inside (small point I know but annoying if you do a lot of driving). Had a few minor loose trim problems fixed under warranty.
Thats about it. No experience of towing.
