Anyone got one?
Might have one on loan over christmas whilst mog is in getting fettled, and thinking seriously of one as a second car. Couple of reasonable oil burners around for 15k or thereabouts - bargain or not?

Yup at 15K definite bargain. I nearly brought a new one but bailed as I
thought for £ 23K far too much money.
Needs the right colour interior as black tends to be a bit clustrophobic
tan is better. Poor visibility at times, especially when filtering onto m/ways etc.

I've got the V6, i reckon they're great cars & still quite rare so it gets plenty of looks

Very practical too, & thats with a small family in tow.

Sounds rather promising then IDeally I'd want a black one with tan interior, but shopping s/h you've got to take whats out there, and there aren't many out there. V6 would be great though - best engine noise there is pretty much!

Visibility not an issue - I drive a Morgan - and I can't see anything out of the front of that let alone the rear

They're great, I've got one and am very happy with it.

Regarding the £15k cars on the market, be sure that they have leather, parking sensors (don't laugh until you've reverse a GT), Bose and either MP3 or CD Changer. Xenons are a personal preference I guess, but I've got them on mine and won't get another car without them.

I believe there are a couple of cars on the market with most of that spec for around £16k, but there are literally just a couple of them. I reckon that V6s might overtake the JTDs midway through 2006 on depreciation, so you could be looking at V6s for £17500 sometime next year.

Good cars, have a go.

As with most Alfa, depreciation will be frightening and the arrival of the Brera isn't going to help the GT.

Still, as you'll be buying second hand that can only be a good thing

Hmmm, I think the limited numbers of the GT are helping resale values alot.

However we are selling more than the 147 new at the moment. I suspect V6 versions will hold alot stronger on the used market when the influx of 3 year old high miler diesels hit the market.

On the subject I don't think the brera will affect sales too much tbh, it's alot more expensive for a start, and it's to replace the GTV not the GT.

Thing Alfa's got wrong with the Brera, though, is that although it nominally 'replaces' the GTV in the lineup, it is anything but a "replacement" for the GTV! I've not yet met a GTV owner who would be tempted to trade up to a Brera and for newcomers, its far too expensive compared to the competition.

Now, if it looked more like the prototype...

Also, I really can't see the point of selling the GT and Brera side-by-side; too much overlap.

When was the gT introduced?

Just wondering about the influx of 3 year old diesels and when it might start happening...

Having said that a 17500V6 would be oh so tempting!

Brera is , but I cna't help thinking that it will loose out terribly to BMW and the like purely because the figures don't read anything like as well as it's obvious competitor the M3.

OF course being afficionardos of itallian metal we all know that the 0-60 isn't the be all and end all, but I fear that 6.5 to 60 in a sporty car for 40k just won't cut any mustard. It'll have to drive demonically well.

Couple of years. The dealers are all saying that residuals are strong purely because there's bugger all of 'em on the 2nd hand market yet... The floodgates will open when the lease companies start getting rid.

Bought one of first Alfa GTs in April 2004 when it came out. Just sold it with actually very little depreciation, though I admit I got it discounted through a trade contact and kept mileage to 11,000. Be careful on options like leather as they do not actually pay off at trade in. Mine was the Alfa GT diesel which in real world terms was better than any petrol - low down torque was superb! It was practical - but yes, you need reversing sensors! Sold it to a dealer in Cornwall for a new Honda Civic (family needs!)
