One of the problems I'd like to fix pretty quickly with my 156 is that both keys are in pretty shocking condition with the plastic cracked, the rubber button for remote c/l missing and the actual key part of one fallen off too.
Now the quoted price of around £80 per key was bad enough, but they also want 1 hours labour at £80 + VAT to get the car to recognise the key. For other vehicles this seems to be a fairly simple operation involving a sequence of key turns/button presses, etc. to put the unit into learning mode, then introducing it to each of the keys in turn. Does anyone know if this is the same process for the 156, and if so, what the sequence is? I've checked the workshop manual I got from eBay but it doesn't seem to want to help me either.

There should be a proceedure, but I'd have to look it up to be sure- assuming its in autodata or other sources.
It will only take about 10 minutes, but it seems dealers now use 1 hour as the minimum chargeable labour unit.
