Just wondered how many miles people have done in there 3.0litre GTV6's what the engines are good for!
Also anyone suggest a good independent to service Alfa's near south lincs.

I sold my GTV6 bought a very nice 156JTS but miss my GTV6 and will be getting another one this year.

Do you mean GTV V6 or GTV6?

As with anything, take care of it and it'll last "forever". Might get expensive, though.

There's a guy on sportsalfa.com (RobertF) selling his 165,000 mile GTV which purportedly has very little wrong with it.

I'd guess GTV V6 - the GTV6 was 2.5.

Don't know how long they last, as PDV6 says could be forever - like having the same broom for 10 years, with five new heads and three new handles.

I've got 55,000 on my 24v, and 42,000 on my 12v with (tempting fate) no problems at all.

I have a 164 12 valve V6 that's 16 years old (the engine) and has over 220,000 on it.

A friend has had multiple 164 3.0's that he bought at high miles (over 100k) then shifted on at very high miles - he never had any engine trouble. Given attention to oil/cambelts I think it's a solid engine.

Surely a £30k ish GTV V6 would not have the quite thoroughly reworked 3.2 in it? In which case better still, I have the GTA version (i.e. 250 not 240bhp) and it is the best all-round engine I've ever had the pleasure of using.
