hi, i've got a freind with a spider 2ltr (2000) model with an over heating problem, do these cars suffer from naff rads? the stats been changed an he's asked me to bang a new rad on it just incase its lost its efficency, is there any 1 where we can get a new rad from besides alfa cus there a bit steep any thought would be welcome. cheer's.

Could you not just try back flushing it first. It may not do a perfect job but the amount of crud that came out would at least give an idea of the state of the thing. If he insists on a new one I would suggest trying any of the usual suspects (Partco, Allparts, etc.) that stock Valeo for a replacement.

Could also be water pump,I have seen metal bladed impellors on water pumps just get eaten away till there is nothing there to actually pump with this, would show up as an over heating issue. You might want to try some cooling system flush this helps clean the waterways.
