Why is the Alfa website so crap?
Discussion
Alfa Romeo produce some of the best looking cars in the world and yet their website, which is supposed to be dedicated to the cars lest we forget, is as useful as a chocolate teapot.
Their car configurator is rubbish, you only get one tiny little image of the car and some of their cars are not even listed.
Surely in this day and age when most browsing of anything is done over the internet before anyone so much as leaves the house, their car range should be better served by allowing people to price and pick their car more effectively online. Allow people to drool over the car they have specced and there's a bigger chance they'll fall in love with it. Compare Bentley's car configurator against Alfa's and you'll see what I mean.
Alfa produce stunning cars yet it's impossible to download a wallpaper pic of one. Why? Desktop wallpapers are the bedroom wall posters of the 21st Century. Let people drool over an Alfa every time they turn their computer on and they'll be more likely to want one.
Also, could there be a better listing of the cars they sell with the more important stuff readily to hand, eg. How much a Brera 2.2 can be on your drive for per month etc.
The first point of contact leaves the biggest impression. Alfa are letting themselves down by a rather poor website.
Surely they can do something about it?

there's no obvious way to order a printed brochure either. Less flash and more content would be an improvement
If you click Showroom along the top, then choose your model, than choose 'Request Brochure'

There's also a Desktop Wallpaper option if you click Showroom, then choose the GT - seems to be only for the GT, though.
Agree with both of you, though - there's definitely scope for it to be better.

...and then await the lottery of whether you'll actually get one or not!
I have had some success with this, but only with the models I'm only "academically" interested in. When there's a car that I'm quite serious about, invariably a brochure never turns up

'cos Alfa UK are half-ársed idiots, who think some lame-árse website with "teaser" images (I find them annoying, personally) festooned with the finest marketing BS and continual references to their "racing heritage" (of eleventy billion years ago) is enough to sell cars, when plainly it isn't. They should look at the Porsche, Audi, Aston Martin, Jaguar and Maserati websites, and then fire themselves for being so useless.
Ah .. love the cars .. dislike the company .. hate the dealers (generalisation I know but 99% true)
Yup - dreadful site. Try using Firefox to configure a Brera, choose the colour, click next and they forget all about your choice. Some wipper-snapper wizz kid did not test
No proper decriptions on the options available and some so baldy titles you would not choose it.
Yet we still buy them
