Hi, I've just accquired a 1988 Alfa Romeo Spider, the one with the black rubber backend!
The last owner and the V5 both say its 1600cc, but I thought they were all 2 litres.
I've tried searching google for any mention of the 1600cc at this age, with no luck.
Does anyone know if they made a 1600cc spider in this year, or where under the bonnet I can check??

Many thanks in advance
Matt

On the front of the Engine block just above the water pump there should be a circular emblem on the casting. Alfa Nord engines have differant shaped emblems for differant capacities, ie 1750 has a triangle in a circle. I can't just remember which emblem a 1.6 or 2.0 has, but I am sure we can find out for you, if you want to check what yours has got.

Good luck with the Spider hope you enjoy her.

No, they did 1600s as well - still goes well and more revvy than the 2.0, so a great drive in their own right. Enjoy it!!!

(And don't forget to join the Owners Club!).

Have a look at the Photography and Video forum. There's a guidey FAQ thingy.
