Chevrolet has confirmed the performance figures for its new ZR1 Corvette – 205mph top speed and 0-60mph in 3.4 seconds. All this performance will cost a whopping/paltry (delete as appropriate to country of residence) £52,000 in the US.
If you are American this means that the ZR1 is officially the most expensive Corvette ever, while if you are British this makes it an absolute bargain. In the US the ZR1 is £16,000 more than the decent Z06 Corvette and a base 2008 car costs just £24,000.
The new 6.2-litre supercharged LS9 motor produces 620bhp and 595lb ft of torque at 4000rpm, which also makes this the most powerful Corvette ever. A fully loaded ZR1, equipped equipped with a £5,000 optional interior package and £1,000 chrome wheels, is priced at £58,000.
The options package includes power-adjustable, heated and leather-trimmed sport seats with the ZR1 logo, side airbags, Bose premium audio system, navigation system, Bluetooth, power telescoping steering column and a custom leather-wrapped interior.
