Most of us enjoy the splendour and natural beauty of verdant-covered mountains. On that score, I am sure there are numerous YouTube videos of the Inca Trail, posted by gap-year students believing that theirs is a unique journey of spiritual discovery. Which it isn't. It's just the thing that gap-year students who think they're on a spiritual journey of discovery do, before going to work for Goldman Sachs.
This video isn't one of those. It does have some pretty content in it, but with a subtext fit for PH and, as it happens, it's borderline ok on the sustainability front, too. It's by Ford Performance and called Free Rein Faroe Islands. The centre piece is a Mustang Mach-E but it's also a great advert for the Faroe Islands, which look splendid. You have to put up with some unbelievably cheesy bits, though. Like the weirdly overenthusiastic girl waving the Mach-E off the ferry but, at that point, you learn the Danish for 'Welcome to the Faroe Islands,' which is Vælkomin Til Føroyar, so it's worth watching from an educational standpoint. And because the Ford Mustang Mach-E in question is the Mach-E 1400.
Yep, that's the Mach-E prototype with 1400hp produced from seven motors - that's three for the front differential and four for the rear in case you were wondering. It's taken 10,000 hours to put together in a collaboration between Ford Performance and RTR Vehicles. And RTR Vehicles is owned and run by Vaughn Gittin Jr, who's described on the Mach-E 1400's press release as a "professional fun-haver" - and I thought I had a half-decent job. Anyway, in this video Gittin is hard at it, showing off his drifting skills, the Mach-E 1400 and, of course, this beautiful Danish outpost. If you have 12 minute to spare and fancy a blast, sit back and enjoy a professional fun-haver at work. My tip: if you haven't got the full twelve minutes to spare, the good bit starts at 3:45.
