Another week, another piece of the
Alpine
puzzle complete! Following last week's confirmation
of aluminium construction
, today we have new info on the sports car's aerodynamics.
Just show us the car already!
"Air flow will be a key factor in the new Alpine's performance and efficiency", a brief Renault statement says. To that end, and as you can see in the pictures here, the car will feature a flat floor and rear diffuser to ensure "remarkable aerodynamics". It also means the car doesn't require a spoiler for downforce, keeping the rear of the car uncluttered. Alpine goes further, saying that will "achieve the sleek, fluid upper body shape that Alpine owners know and love."
From what can be seen here it looks a pretty serious arrangement, not as aggressive as an Elise Cup 250 but probably more focused than an Alfa 4C. From what we've seen so far in fact that's probably where the Alpine will be pitched in the market.
There is one more newsletter due next week, the full unveiling expected at Geneva in March. More when we have it.
