Here's why PistonHeads is a fabulous place: nestled between threads about an Ariel Atom, a Spire GT3 race car, an Audi TT and a Honda Integra Type R is this; a Volvo 343 GL. Some might say it's not worth the attention, but we would beg to differ.
PHer 'irish boy' has recently purchased the car, remarkably with just one owner and 4,000 recorded miles. In a world of scrappage and cars being treated ever more like disposable goods, to see a 35 year-old car preserved in such a way is incredible. Look how clean it is!
It even works, despite the journey away from the port being its first since 1982. Well, once the battery had a bit of juice, that is. Since then the car has been treated to some new tyres and a fluid refresh, with a numberplate change the biggest decision currently facing this PHer. It's been a breeze, by all accounts.
So bravo irish boy, for saving this rare old Volvo and getting some use out of it. The car may be unloved in some parts but we can only admire it - bring on the spring, some better weather and more driving!
