If you weren't able to join us on Sunday at the all-new Classic & Sports Car Show at Bicester Heritage, you truly missed out. Developed in association with Flywheel, the two-day event took over the former RAF site in Oxfordshire and was blessed with sunshine throughout.
With an eclectic mix of world-class classic cars, military vehicles and vintage aircraft, there was an action packed timetable of live events running across both days. If that wasn't enough, there was live music, car clubs, traders and some great hot food, all topped off by craft beer brewed on site by the Wriggly Monkey Brewery.
Those that joined us in force were lucky enough to park inside the venue and become part of the event itself, with one of the flight path viewing areas being directly behind our Sunday Service. Many had the foresight to pack a picnic and deck chairs to pitch up behind their cars to enjoy the air displays in the afternoon, while the PH long-term Caddy acted as a suitable bench and sunshade with the rear door up for us.
Bicester Heritage proved the perfect backdrop, with the local businesses opening their doors to show off their wares and form part of the display. You really can't beat the smell of unburnt petrol and old leather, or the escapism of the fantastic period outfits and noise of the old engines turning over. It's looking like this could quickly become a firm favourite in our calendar. We're looking forward to next year already!
Naturally, it's already being discussed in the forums, which you can catch up on here.
