Pininfarina’s custom-made Rolls-Royce Hyperion has been put up for sale by its wealthy collector for the jaw-dropping price of €4.5m (£4m).
The one-off creation uses the Rolls-Royce Drophead Coupe as its platform, but the driving position and windscreen have been moved back 400mm thanks to the removal of the rear seats. The Hyperion retains the Coupe’s 6.75-litre V12 engine, but acquires some rather more bespoke elements.
The Roller’s dashboard features a removable Girard Perregaux-designed watch and a custom gun rack, no doubt included to help justify the car’s exorbitant price and high profile unveil at last year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
Pininfarina claim the idea was to create an exclusive Rolls-Royce that possessed the same class and style as cars from the 1930’s.
It’s definitely not to everyone’s taste, but an exclusive, hand built luxury car from one of the world’s most famous coachbuilders might be a wise investment.
