The 1- Series Coupe became one of the most talked about cars on PH following our report on the car a few months back- mostly for the wrong reasons. Well, here's another variant for you to mull over, it's the same car, sans roof.
During discussions over our morning brew at PH Towers, we agreed that it hasn't done much to improve the 'challenging' looks of the forthcoming 1- Series coupe but we agree that BMW will probably sell plenty of them.
There's no word on the weight of the car as yet, but the coupe was due a trip to weight watchers to start with, although the decision to shun the trend for a CC style metal folding roof has probably helped save a few pounds.
Engine wise you have the choice of the 135i using the twin turbo 3.0 producing 300bhp, the 128i with a 3.0 producing 230bhp and the 123d producing 204bhp. Others look likely to follow as the official pictures do show a version badged 120i.
The 135i comes with the M aero kit, sports suspension, larger brakes with six- piston calipers up front and two piston at the rear as well as xenon headlights. The bodykit and headlights are optional on other models.
More details to follow, so for now we can only admire the photographs.
