250 TR is worth more than some banks...
This gorgeous '57 Ferrari 250 TR is expected to set a new world record auction price for a vintage car when it goes under the hammer in May, comfortably eclipsing the €7m fetched by a a '61 Ferrari 250 GT California Spider last year.
The annual Ferrari Leggenda e Passione event run by RM Auctions with Sotheby’s looks set to be a corker, with the auctioneers predicting an unprecedented collection of historic Ferraris up for sale.
The icing on this year's cake will be the 'pontoon fender' 250 TR, one of only 22 built in '57/'58. In all, the Scaglietti designed 250 TR entered 19 international championship races and took victory in ten of them, a record which has afforded the car legendary status among collectors.
This particular example was raced in the 1000km Buenos Aires by its first owner, before being campaigned successfully in North America by Texas rancher and entrepreneur Alan Connell and is offered in original black coachwork with red nose.
