Developing a car from a private garage in the heart of Texas is probably not the most auspicious start to a new sports car company, and it seems Neal Bailey, creator of this, the Bailey Blade concept, would be inclined to agree. His fledgling car company BXR Motors has found new premises, new backing and three fully fledged development prototypes should be on the road by October.

Bailey’s Blade concept is built around a Cobra replica chassis that had been adapted to accommodate adjustable, independent suspension all round, but funding was hard to come by.
Now, though, the project has found a new backer, changed its name to BXR Motors and has moved to larger premises at MotorSport Ranch in Texas, a self-styled country club for motorsport enthusiasts.
Bailey says production cars will be available with a variety of engines, ranging from a small-block Ford V8 to BMW engines, though the prototypes will be fitted with Roush-tuned ford V8s kicking out around 550bhp.
