Has Bentley ceased from today to be come a marque to be respected and cherished? Already set to diversify into off-roaders (see story link below), the VW-owned company today announced its appointment of a "lifestyle communications manager".
Julia Marozzi will be responsible for the development of lifestyle media activities in the UK and will join Bentley on 1 July 2005.
A former features, news and Weekend editor at the Financial Times, Julia is a respected writer and freelance journalist. She has also worked for a number of national and international publications in the United States, Canada and Hong Kong.
“Bentley’s presence in a diverse range of media reflecting our customers’ interests, is a vital part of our communication strategy,” said a Bentley spokesman. “Julia is perfectly placed to build on her own journalistic experience within a luxury brand environment and I am delighted that she has joined our team.”
Nothing personal against Marozzi of course, but is that really what Bentley, a company with a motor racing heritage and a huge reputation for making great cars, really needs?
