New Mulsanne comes in 114 different colours
The new Bentley Mulsanne will cost from £220,000 when it goes on sale in the UK in summer 2010, the company has announced today.
Production of Bentley's new flagship, whose £220k price tag includes taxes and delivery charges (awfully decent of them to throw those in), will start at Bentley's Crewe HQ in spring 2010. The first customer deliveries will begin a few months later.
A new, dedicated body production facility is being built for the car, where the superforming of the aluminium front wings will happen right alongside the traditional hand-crafted metal working that is so crucial to Bentley's DNA.
Mulsanne customers can choose from 114 paint colours, 21 carpet colours, nine wood veneers and 24 interior leather hides for their car, which will take nine weeks to build.
Under the bonnet, the new Bentley Mulsanne retains the venerable 6.75-litre V8, but the old girl now uses variable cam phasing and can shut down individual engine cylinders to help reduce fuel consumption.
