Anybody with a passing interest in motorsport should now be aware of Billy Monger, the 17-year-old British F4 driver who was involved in a crash at last weekend's Donington Park round. Following the incident he has had both of his lower legs amputated, a tragic turn of events for a very talented young driver.
To aid his care, treatment and therapy in the future, a Just Giving page has been set up by the Monger family. Already the page has reached 150 per cent of its planned total, with 118 days left to run. It's at nearly 10,000 contributions too, which is a great show of support for Billy.
A statement on the Just Giving page said "we now need your kindness and support help give Billy and his family the best chance to fight these injuries that will affect Billy's life so massively." You can contribute on the Just Giving page here, and PHers are already discussing Billy in a thread here. We wish Billy and his family all the best at what must be a tremendously difficult time.
