BMW has created the ultimate car for people who haven’t got a clue what they want to drive.
Anyone who wants a coupe, off-roader, sports car, estate, five-door, SUV, but can’t make up their mind which, will love the X6 as BMW has attempted to roll all of them into one machine.
The X6 does however look quite striking and among the engine line-up is the 3.0 litre twin turbo six (xDrive35i) and a 4.4 litre twin turbo V8 with 400bhp (xDrive50i).
The car will make its world debut at the Detroit Auto Show next year.
All models will have four-wheel-drive and BMW’s Dynamic Performance Control as standard, which can help steer the vehicle by directing torque to either of the rear wheels.
BMW say the car is incredibly agile and stable and it is calling it a Sports Activity Coupe – a niche it lays claim to creating – but is avoiding calling it a SAC.
The X6 is likely to sell by the bucket load but ironically it is probably those who neither drive off-road or particularly fast that will be attracted to the big Beemer.
