Further details have emerged on the Bolwell Nagari, a curious-looking Australian ‘supercar’. We use the term ‘supercar’ lightly because it is powered by a 290bhp and 250lb ft of torque 3.5-litre 24-valve quad-cam V6 from a Toyota Camry.
When we first saw the car at the Australian Motor Show it didn’t do much for us, but here at PH Towers we’ve had a rethink. It may not be conventionally pretty but there is something very sixties about the shape which is quite appealing.
Bolwell used to make Nagari sports cars in the 60s and 70s and this is its first attempt at a modern version. It is mid-engined and features carbon fibre composite body panels, 19” composite wheels, ABS brakes, an underbody aero kit front and rear and a sports exhaust.
Inside there is a Momo steering wheel, leather Recaro seats, a sat nav with rear-facing camera and air conditioning. The company is now looking at building an electric version.
