Brabus have been applying their tuning skills to the Smart range giving buyers more choice when selecting one of the diminutive cars.
There are now seven open-top cars to choose from in the smart line-up: fortwo cabrio, fortwo cabrio Brabus, roadster, roadster-coupé, roadster light and the new roadster Brabus and roadster-coupé Brabus.
Brabus have shoehorned in some more power to give a power to weight ratio of 120 bhp per tonne. With an engine output of 101 bhp, this is a 23% increase in power output over the standard model. An increase in torque from 110 Nm to 130 Nm gives the car a bit more grunt in the mid range and top speed is increased to 122 mph from 113 mph.
Jeremy Simpson, Head of smart in the UK and Ireland, said lots of stuff including "You’ve seen the jaw-dropping V6 BRABUS roadster: these models have been developed from that prototype.
"
Visually the cars have been treated to some bolt on bits including Monoblock VI 17" alloy wheels, twin sports exhaust, front spoiler, side skirts and radiator grille. The interior includes leather trimmed dashboard, alloy-effect "accent parts", Brabus instrument graphics, leather/aluminium gearknob, aluminium handbrake handle, aluminium pedals and Brabus floor mats.
Prices for the new roadster BRABUS and roadster coupé BRABUS are £16,695 otr and £16,995 otr respectively.
