The Lobini H1 is coming to the UK in spring 2007.
A what? It is, according to Autocar, a bit like a cross between an Ascari and a Lotus Elise. Powered by VW/Audi's 1.8-litre 180bhp turbocharged four-pot mill, it's the brainchild of Portuguese businessman Jose Orlando Lobo and Italian designer/engineer Fabio Birolini -- and it's currently in production in Brazil. Other brains involved include those of designer Graham Holmes and engineer Dave Minter, ex-Lotus and Ascari, who's responsible for the suspension design.
Performance looks to be 140mph Vmax and 7.8 seconds to 60mph from rest.
The H1 is aimed at those who want an Elise-alike car but also need a tad more practicality -- a daily driver. According to Autocar, it delivers a comfortable and adjustable driving position along with scissor doors and a removable targa roof.
Prices is likely to be around £35,000, including items such as aircon, CD, carpets, leather sports seats and power steering as standard.
If you want one hurry up, as only 40 will be imported.
