V8S
organised the inaugural Caring With Cars, a fantastic charity event that raised over £5,400 the Children's Hospice adjoining the Downs School near(ish) Bristol.
This year, CWC is back, scheduled for Sunday 20th May, and we reckon it'll be a cracker.
With over 350 cars in attendance, and even a Red Arrows flypast, last year's event surely lived up to its billing as a relaxed and informal meet for PH members and fellow enthusiasts alike.
In 2011 the showcase area highlighted such cars as a Duesenberg Model J, an off-road Beetle, a rare Trabant, a Metro 6R4, a Mosler, a Brooke prototype, a Peugeot 205 GTI 1FM, a CLK DTM and a Bugatti Type 57, to name but some exhibits. There was even a Formula 1 car pulled on a trailer by a Dodge Viper!
CWC is a free event, but the organisers will be fund-raising on the day and you can also donate to the hospice by visiting the Just Giving page. ALL money donated will be given to the charity.
Gates will open from 10.00h until 16.00h, but if you want to bring your car along you do need to register on the CWC event calendar here (a la Sunday Service).
The Children's Hospice (South West) venue cares for over 1,000 terminally ill children, and provides full long-term support to their families, and the people there have been kind enough to allow 500 cars to access their grounds to create a spectacle for both the attendees and the children who stay there.
The event is being held in the grounds of the Charlton Farm hospice in beautiful countryside just a couple of miles from the M5 near Bristol. There is therefore easy access from Wales, the North, London and the South along the M4 and M5.
