Today's Time for Tea comes courtesy of Rimac, the Croatian EV manufacturer which has been making waves in the industry since it debuted its Concept One sports car at the 2016 Geneva show. The company has actually existed for over eight years, though, and from its lowly origins in the garage of founder Mate Rimac has grown to employ over 500 people.
With its expertise being sought by some of the biggest names in the business, including Aston Martin, Koenigsegg and Pininfarina, the firm has attracted investment from Porsche, only serving to accelerate its already rapid growth.
With that in mind, Mate has decided that the time is right to pause and take stock of where the company stands, and just how far it has come in the past few years. To do so the firm has published this behind the scenes look into his facility, featuring plenty of interesting snippets usually reserved for employee eyes only.
Highlights? Well, touring the production line with Mate it is immediately apparent how deeply involved he has been in the company's development thus far, instantly recognising every component as he comes across it - a surprisingly rare trait amongst automotive CEOs. It's also fascinating to see just how light so many of the cars' components are, Mate plucking them from their resting places with ease, a visible demonstration of just how much of the hyper EV's 1,850kg kerb weight lies in the electric powertrain and its batteries.
But enough from us, take some time out of your Wednesday with a tour of one of the industry's most exciting new names, we're certainly looking forward to the next step of their journey.
