Gendan's VW diagnostics reader
Ever fancied doing your own diagnostics, rather than paying a garage to do it the expensive way? Gendan has announced the release of a low-cost fault code reader for VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda cars. At under £60, Gendan said the reader could pay for itself when compared to the cost of a code read at a garage.
The reader reads, displays and clears fault codes from the engine-management, ABS, airbag and automatic transmission systems, on almost any VW, Audi, Seat or Skoda car from around 1996 to 2002.
Fault codes are displayed on the built-in four-character display - no need to count flashing lights - and the definitions of the codes can be found in the enclosed user manual.
Gendan reckoned the product is ideal for both car owners and mechanics, and is part of a range of home-user diagnostic tools available from the company, which also stocks other VAG-COM diagnostic packages and cables.
