A garage in Manchester is being forced to pay compensation to a van owner who crashed shortly after a service. The crash left another man dead and a woman confined to a wheelchair.
The Transit van had been serviced two days prior to the accident yet investigators found a defective brake that they believed would have been in that state prior to the service.
The garage has therefore been held liable for damages. Experts in motoring law are warning those in the trade to ensure that work is carried out diligently and are even warning garages to get customers to sign confirmation forms if they decline work recommended by the garage.
