Cars include the Lotus 340R
Another sports car club has been launched, this one offering a unique mix of cars. Highlights include a Grinnall Scorpion IV, a Noble M400, a TVR Sagaris and a Caterham Superlight R300 -- the full list is below.
It's designed for those who enjoy the unique thrill of driving exciting, thoroughbred sports cars, but who don’t want the inconvenience and expense of actually owning one. The Club offers members access to a collection of the most sort after sports cars currently available today, along with examples of all time greats from recent years.
Members pay a one-off joining fee of £750 and an annual subscription of £4,000. Each member receives an allocation of points, which can be exchanged throughout the year for days driving any of the club's collection of sports cars. On average, a member can expect to enjoy around 40 – 50 days driving the club's cars each year.
Having paid the annual subscription, the only costs a member incurs are petrol and other sundries such as parking, tolls and so on. The annual subscription covers all other costs associated with owning and running the cars, including insurance, tax, servicing, repairs, storage, security, breakdown recovery.
The Club is based near Cowbridge in South Wales with easy access to many of the best driving roads in the UK. This gives members an ideal opportunity to really enjoy the cars the way they should be; on quiet country roads which offer good, safe driving conditions.
Members will also enjoy a number of social and driver orientated events throughout the year including; the Le Mans 24 hour race long weekend, track days at circuits throughout the UK, and an end of year Club Dinner.
With the Club due to officially launch in May 2005, applications for membership are now being invited from enthusiastic drivers aged between 30 and 65. Membership will be limited to a maximum of around 100 like-minded individuals based on a first come, first served basis.
