We were just commenting on how the seasons' racing is nearly over when details of the Dunlop Hot Hatch Championship fell into our inbox. Turns out this championship has all the iconic hot hatches we know and love swapping paint and getting stuck in. Have a look at the pictures and tell us it doesn't look like a laugh.
For the final round the series heads to Brands Hatch and the racing kicks off with the Radical Enduro championship, where the leading cars will be lapping the Brands Hatch Indy circuit every 43 seconds! Following that the 14 to 16-year-old Lewis Hamilton wannabes take to the track in the Ginetta Junior Championship.
The next race is the Dunlop Sport Maxx Cup. Numerous hot hatches will be fighting for honours, with an Astra VXR and Renault Megane F1 expected to head a field containing Clios, Minis, Leons, Alfa 147s, Citroen Saxos and many more. This series is a true stepping-stone to BTCC and delivers the sort of racing we haven’t seen since the Cleland era of touring cars.
There are also concluding rounds for the Radical Biduros, Westfield Sportscars and the ever popular Mini Challenge. If you are a hot hatch driver you can get out there too as they’ll be a lunchtime parade and free gifts for everyone taking part. It’s set to be a great day out for fans of hot hatches and racing - more details can be found on www.driversknow.co.uk
We reckon it's one to put in the diary.
