The very last F430 to leave Ferrari’s Maranello production line will be sold this weekend in Italy.
Silver and gold are colours of Aquila
Although the car won’t be built until the end of the year, this official rendering shows how the last of the line will look, resplendent in a two-tone silver with gold striped livery that reflects the traditional colours of Aquila, the city hit hardest by the recent earthquake that devastated Italy’s Abruzzo region last month.
The car will be offered for sale at the Ferrari Leggenda E Passione sale run by RM Auctions at Maranello this Sunday, and will come with a certificate of authenticity signed by Luca di Montezemolo, Ferrari chairman. Funds from the sale of the car will be donated to the rebuilding efforts in Abruzzo.
The announcement amounts to the first official acknowledgement that the F430 is due to be replaced later this year, with latest reports suggesting the car’s F450 successor will be revealed at the Frankfurt show in September. The F450 is expected to arrive with a 500bhp-550bhp 4.5-litre V8, and range of technical innovations, possibly including the first F1-style KERS Kinetic Energy Recovery System according to some speculation -although this may be adopted on the model after its initial launch.
