Ford in Australia are in a constant battle with GM to produce the most desirable hot saloons - a battle that shows no sign of making the trip to the UK where Vectras and Mondeos are content to battle for the attention of reps and fleet managers.
Down under however, performance is given a higher priority. Ford Performance Vehicles is set about to unveil its latest weapon in the war - the turbo-charged F6 Typhoon concept car.
David Flint, Managing Director of Ford Performance Vehicles blurted excitedly "We believe the F6 Typhoon will further strengthen our position as the technical leaders in the tribal high-performance vehicle market. It will demonstrate our commitment to providing a family of cars that offer a Total Performance package
.”
It's no V8 for the Typhoon though. It will be powered by a high-performance turbo-charged and intercooled 4.0-litre six cylinder engine. More information, including power and torque outputs, will be released at the Melbourne Motor Show on February 27.
Come on Ford, lets have some Fast Passenger Vehicles here!
