Transit SportVan - all 'white' by us...
The White Van Man in all of us can rejoice – Ford is reprising its Transit SportVan, and this time it’s in a proper van colour.
The last Transit SportVan, which PH had a spin in a few months back, was quite a success, with 1000 examples sold in 18 months and reminding plenty of us just how a Transit should be driven – on its doorhandles.
Based on the short-wheelbase front-wheel drive Transit 260, the latest model gets white paintwork with blue racing stripes, along with 18-inch alloys, twin exhaust tailpipes and a 138bhp 2.2-litre turbodiesel.
Inside, there’s air-con, a six-disc CD-player with steering-column-mounted controls, cruise control, power windows, powered and heated mirrors, a leather steering wheel, and a leather gearshift knob. If you’re feeling really flush you can specify sat-nav and leather seats on top of the £22,030 price.
The bad news is that the white version is limited to just 80 models, and the classic blue livery is sold out. Still, two other options remain available; Panther Black with silver stripes, or Sea Grey with silver stripes.
