Rolls Royce used the Geneva show to reveal a prototype version of its new 200EX. The final production version of the smaller Rolls is not due to appear until the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The production car should look pretty similar to the show car, which is only 435mm shorter than the Phantom in length.
The 200EX (development name RR4) will slot into the bottom of the Rolls lineup, underneath the Phantom. It will share its platform with the BMW 7-Series, but will receive a bespoke V12 powerplant.
The car features small, sharp LED lights, huge 20" alloys and a smaller version of the trademark grille. All being well, the 200EX should come on sale early in 2010, and rumours suggest that it may revive the legendary 'Silver Ghost' moniker from Rolls' past.
But the new car will be carrying a hefty price tag of around £180,000, meaning that Rolls-Royce's 'baby' will not be particularly small or cheap, even compared with its own £264,000 Phantom.
