A one day 'Moving Motor Show' will take place at Goodwood as part of the 2010 Festival of Speed.
I've got a very big house, you know...
The new manufacturer preview day will be on Thursday July 1st, and is designed to give car buyers the chance to both see the latest new models and possibly even go for a ride around what Goodwood is calling 'a special evaluation route', that includes the famous hillclimb.
All sectors of the new car market will be represented at the Moving Motor Show, from economy hatchbacks to MPVs, family saloons to SUVs and prestige limousines to supercars, with manufacturers having their own stands to display their products and interact with customers.
New show to join 'traditional' attractions
It's a ticket only affair (while you can't buy Moving Motor Show tickets yet, FOS tickets are already available at
www.goodwood.com
) and we don't know who will qualify for the runs up the hill as the organisers say the chance to experience the vehicles will be 'at each manufacturer's invitation'. Our advice is to make sure they know you're itching to buy...
"The Moving Motor Show is a direct response to the continued enthusiasm and demand from vehicle manufacturers and the general car-buying public alike for an annual motor show in Britain. In recent years the British Motor Show has been bi-annual, and has now been cancelled altogether for 2010," says Festival of Speed founder Lord March.
"My hope is that the Goodwood Moving Motor Show will become a ‘must attend’ annual event, enabling car buyers to see and experience the latest models, and giving vehicle producers the opportunity to showcase their products in a stunning setting and a relaxed environment."
The Festival of Speed 'proper' gets underway on Friday July 2nd, and as usual runs through to Sunday. More details will be announced over the coming months, we're told.
