Can we take the bicycle after all Guv?
The car (we don't know what else to call it) once
notable for recording the lowest ever score on the PH O'Meter
has entered service with the Thames Valley Police.
Mitsubishi's press release today states the company is 'delighted to announce the delivery' of said mean machine following trials we reported back in '09, although we can't help thinking the delight won't be quite as unalloyed back at the station. Forced smiles the order of the day at handover time, we reckon.
Still it's not all bad. Chiltern Transport's fleet manager Dave McDonald is quoted in the press release as saying their strategy is 'necessary to protect future generations from the worst effects of global warming' (we promise, he really did say that), and the vehicle will be used for routine non-emergency duties around Milton Keynes city centre.
So yes, it's probably not such a bad idea really. But it's still funny.
*NB. PistonHeads does not condone taking the rise out of anyone, and especially not our friends in the force. (This one just slipped out...)
