It sounds like an odd name for a motor but with rocketing sales around Europe no-one is complaining.
Nissan has just announced that it's creating almost 200 new jobs at its plant in Sunderland to help meet demand for the Qashqai.
More than 70,000 of them have been sold across Europe since the small 4x4 vehicle was launched in March.
Now 180 manufacturing staff, currently working at the plant on fixed-term temporary contracts, will be offered full-time permanent jobs with Nissan.
About 850 Qashqai's roll off the Sunderland production line each day.
More than 4,300 people already work at the plant, which has produced almost five million cars since production on Wearside began 20 years ago.
