We're excited to announce that over the coming weeks and months, we will be supporting our friends at Mission Motorsport. The Forces' charity is marking its sixth anniversary this year, which we'll be celebrating with the team this weekend at our
Silverstone Sunday Service
For those of you that don't know what it is, the Mission Motorsport ethos is simple: to aid in the recovery and rehabilitation of those affected by military operations by providing opportunities through motorsport. While it might sound like a lot of fun, there's also a serious side, helping those traumatised by injuries both physical and mental follow their own personal journeys to rebuilding their lives.
The team led by long-standing PHer James Cameron, better known to some as Tankslider, provide vocational support for wounded servicemen with training and qualifications to return to work. They have helped over 1,000 veterans find employment in the automotive sector since their inception.
PH and MM's paths have crossed at many points in the past, perhaps most notably in 2014 when Matt raced against beneficiary Steve McCulley in the Caterham Academy, ahead of racing on the same team at the inaugural Race of Remembrance. Many of you will know Ben Williams (username benjj) who organises the charity's race, while some of you have even taken part.
Clearly, supporting Mission Motorsport is close to our hearts and we couldn't think of a better team and cause to get behind. We're getting started this weekend, where Mission Motorsport will be bringing two specially adapted Jaguar F-Types to provide passenger rides to raise money for its ongoing efforts. If you're going to Silverstone, you'll get more information on this in due course.
We've got plenty of ideas already in the pipeline, so can guarantee you'll see a member of the team at a Sunday Service soon. Brings lots of spare change!
