Get to drive Elises, Scoobys and clio Cup with Ex-Lotus driver Martin Donnelly

There’s a lot of car experience days around – some good, some bad – but one landed in the PH inbox recently that could be worth checking out.

The Car Limits course is run by a couple of PHers – ‘Ness@carlimits’ and ‘Andrew Walsh’ - and will get you behind the wheel of a Lotus Elise 111R and a 111S, as well as Subaru WRX STi and Renault Clio Cup race cars.

Tuition is by Lotus F1 star Martin Donnelly; 2003 John Cooper Challenge Champion Mark Speller ; Formula Ford and BritCar racer Jamie Stanley and experienced racing driver Pete Smith.

The idea is to teach cornering techniques, including some trailing throttle and trailing brake exercises on the company’s two circuits, and make you a better driver on the road and track.

Car Limits promises that the cars can be driven to the limit and the day takes place at North Weald Airfield in Essex

In fact, one of the PH team may come down as well to try it out and find out if the day really is as good as Car Limits says.
