Given its layout and reputation, it's perhaps a surprise that there aren't more skiddy videos of Lotus Carltons about. Still, given it's a quarter of a century old, perhaps it's unreasonable to expect such footage - we're kind of spoilt with that nowadays, aren't we?
This little clip proves the world needs more oversteering Lotus Carlton videos. Normally a Time For Tea? feature would be longer, but such is the drama, excitement and speed packed into this 60-second vid that it was comfortably deemed worthy.
It's an Austrian hillclimb, so it's fast, and the guy driving - Thomas Weberhofer - features in a few Lotus Carlton vids on YouTube, so he knows what he's doing. Have you ever seen one of these cars lock up under brakes before? Nope, us neither. Or lay black lines up the road in what must be third gear? Or jink sideways in fourth? As mentioned, it's drama all the way!
Hopefully more videos are forthcoming of this incredible car and driver combo soon. Moreover, if this has you in the mood, it comes from a channel called Hillclimb Monsters; it comes highly recommended, if you're into that sort of thing...

[N.B. Yes, it's a Lotus Carlton in the pic and a Lotus Omega in the video, but we're hoping it's not too much of an issue...]
